Temporarily Homeless and Unemployed
My last day at the pub has passed. It was a sad of course, but fun at the same time. Paul and I had the shift together on the bar, 10am to 1130pm and we did our best to make it a good one. I even managed to get two drinks bought for me before the night was up, as well as pouring about 5 Guinniiii with funkadelic shamrocks. I'd like to do some part-time bartending wherever I end up later on. Maybe not in poland because I think i'll be busy, but once the oversea's business is over then I wouldn't mind pouring some pints on a weekend just to have some fun and talk to people.
Today I'll begin packing. Well...begin and most probably come close to finishing. I don't have that much to put away, I still live out of a big backpack. I wonder if I need to get a suit now? That'll all become clear in a couple of days.
Here's a lovely photo for everyone. No, it's not a camera trick, I'm sitting on the right side of the car and shifting gears with my left hand. Yeah, that was trouble at the start. Coupled with having to drive on the other side of the road, roundabouts and one way streets, there definetly were some moments driving during the past few weeks that included the phrases: "No! The OTHER left!", "Oh NOW I see, the right side ISN'T the right side here." and "Why is he driving towards us...oh ___!" Don't worry, nothing bad happened and the car isn't THAT dented.
It was fun trying to decondition myself from something as simple as turning into the proper lane. And later on I had the added fun of teaching Paul how to drive stick, which he actually picked up quite quickly.
I'm going to miss the antics that did happen here. I'll miss the people mostly. On the left you can see Dana (from the Czech), Dorel (from Transylvania) me (ducking from the camera) and Kirstie (a local, and the head chef-tress). I'll see if i can get a group picture to put up with some more people who worked with me after my farewell outing tomorrow night.
Before then though, some packing and windsurfing tomorrow morning. As for my next post, that should be from Poland, in a new home and with a new job. Huttah!

When you were having your farewell party overseas we were having our Thanskgiving Dinner. One year ago we had all of you home together with Britt. Pitty you could not witness my stunning "turkey" success this year.

Good luck in Warszawa. You will have a chance to meet your family and make new friends. Go for it! Meanwhile, we had a rather quiet Thanksgiving Dinner with only three of us at the table (turkey was a blast!)

Sounds like a lot of people like you there in the bar. I know this one quote by Louis D'Amour you might like.
There comes a time in which everything seems to come to an end. That is called the BEGINNING.
Can't wait to meet you in March.

It looks like you're leaving a pretty fun place... but you're on to a new adventure!
Of course yesterday I was thinking of your family too and being with them last thanksgiving. Hello Szoltyseks!
I hear New York City is kinda cool. I'd look into that if I were you. Nice looking girls there, I think.
