I took a trip to Krakow last weekend to visit my cousin and to enjoy some of the student nightlife (nightlife that is much harder for me to find here in Warsaw where my coworkers are twice my age). Here's a photo of me attacking my cousin Victoria with my Canadian charm. Yes there IS a sticker on my butt. Here's another appealing shot of us with her room

mate Krysia (Krysta?) taking care of her personal hygiene which I know she would absolutley LOVE to see published online. Hey, its what I'm here for
I was pleasantly reminded why I had such a good time in Krakow at the start of the trip, months ago: the place is beautiful. After taking the 3hour train immediatly after work on friday night (which was full so I had to stand..woohoo) I walked through the town and through the square to get to my cousin's apartment. These pictures don't do the city justice, but Krakow was made up like a Christmas postcard. There were lights around every corner in streets that led to the town square, as you can see in the photo on the left. All around you could also see trees and wreaths on most doors, and musicians '

wailing' on accordians and guitars in the streets. Really nice
To top it all off, the main square was turned into an outdoor restaurant/ bbq/ fleamarket/ happyfuntimeplace (photo on the right) that was open all day and most of the night. When I walked through in the evening, there were people sitting around,

laughing and talking while drinking warm wine and eating lamb straight off the grill. Later on, when I was taking my train home on Sunday around noon, I stumbled around looking to buy myself something nice, while eating shishkebabs. It just seemed like a really cozy place to be. In some ways I found myself comparing Krakow to Montreal back home and I shed a few tears and a got a little nostalgic before grunting like a man and convincing myself that feelings are for girls
Maybe I should move to Krakow

Can you imagine that they moved the Capital from Krakow to Warsaw about 400 years ago?
Good to be around family isn't it! By the way, a few more hours south and you could ski in the Tatra mountains with real Gazdas and Juhasy (this are the Gorale, or Highlanders if you will).
Half an hour West and you are in Wadowice - John-Paul II birthplace. You can see it all - just ask Maja when you come to Katowice.

Hey it's Victoria!
Tell her hi and give her a hug for me cause she's so cool.
Do you still practice guitar, cause I remembered that you left your guitar here when you left. Just wondering because I've gotten way better and I might have caught up with you.
Christmas is coming really soon, and it's not gonna be the same without you. And you won't be here for my birthday party either, so Victor's gonna have to try and throw me into the air by himself.
Man, I haven't seen you for half a year and now I'm getting really :(
I can't wait until March.

Hi Dzido!
I'm really sorry that we couldn't meet in Cracow because of that stupid exam. Victoria told me that you had great fun. I hope that next time I will be able to join you :)
Hugs

Holy! Nice pics. Again, living vicariously. Spain is definitely a solid maybe. I'm trying to get as many people as possible so I can rent a villa in Ibiza. So far, not many bites. I plan to go to Pamplona then make my way to Ibiza. At the risk of your mom's wrath and Britt's fury, my invitation still stands for the bull thing. I'll bring my own pink bunny suit.

P.S. We are doing this years Holiday party at Primadonna on St.Laurent tomorrow (Dec. 15/06). Some of the execs from T.O. will be attending and David might make an appearance. Wish you were here but I know your having a ball there. Want to switch?

Zan - hmmm wrath or no wrath, at least send me the specifics by email, I'd like to see your plan. Who knows ;-)
And yeah, I'd love to be at the Christmas party. I could shmooze with execs for the new job I need soon and then break out some of last year's karaokae. So if you're up to it, when you're with any upper level T.o. people...remind them of this great Polish guy who's travelling the world looking for mutual fund opoortunities

I hadn't read your blog in so long! It was very exciting, edge of my seat the whole time.
I was just writing on Paul's blog (which has significantly less posts than yours) and reminded him that you two need to brush up on your magic tricks. It is why I enjoy travelling with you guys ;)
SEE YOU SOON!
